Is golf participation being let down by schools?

I’ve written before about the stigma surrounding golf and it has a significant impact on participation. Emma Ballard from Medi8 , LET member Sophie Walker , Kelly Saddleton and the England Golf team including Abbie Lench and Ali Lysons have campaigned endlessly to promote golf to girls.

From my experience in education, the lack of focus on golf here is the key. Golf has the unique ability to be played in teams and individually.  There are many skills to master that would to suit PE lessons down to the ground. With a vast array of high profile role models, why then does hockey, netball, tennis and so on take preference?
