Employee Engagement Case Study : Amazon

The Challenge
At Amazon Fulfilment centres there are large amounts of employees working around the clock. Trying to create a way to engage a large proportion of the workforce has been an issue logistically. We sat down with the Exec Assitant to plan a week long, 120 consecutive hour tournament and put our tagline to the test. The MAN1 Masters was devised!

The Event

We suggested a 6 hole course in the break room. This is a place where many members of staff congregate during their breaks and seemed the best possible place to set up. The course we arranged made sure that a team competition could take place around the clock without disruption to shift patterns. The addition of a corporate coloured course, custom scorecards and flags also added a special touch.

The Result
The immediate impact was a wide range of employees signed up for  the competition over 5 days. As the rounds started, more and more teams signed up throughout the week. Having score updates on screens around the centre kept everyone up to date and the competitive juices flowing for the full five days.

Thank you for a fantastic event! I am delighted to say this has been the best engagement piece we have run. Over the course of the week 65 teams entered to play with the winning team scoring a 61! Brilliant to see the teamwork and fun people have had and of course bringing out that healthy competitive streak! Huge thanks – look forward to working with you again
